Principal Post

Dear Families,

We come to the end of a busy term.  And my heart felt thanks goes out to each of you for your ongoing support of your children and school.  Our students continue to do their best and demonstrate pride in all their efforts. Overall, they do have a strong connection to our school and to each other. I congratulate them all and wish for them a terrific holiday.

Family /Teacher Interviews

I hope that the Family Teacher Interviews held yesterday and today have  been beneficial.  I hope that you had an opportunity to explore the class/ level expo at the Celebration of Learning.

If you have had any issue downloading or accessing the 2023 Semester 1 report you need to contact the school by Friday morning.

Sacrament of Confirmation

Congratulations to all of the Confirmation Candidates from the school and Parish who made their Confirmation on Sunday. Bishop Tony Ireland  led our celebration and reminded our students  to imitate the Saint they had chosen and carry the gifts of the Holy Spirit with them always. It was lovely to see these students so warmly supported  by their families and many of our SJV staff.

The Sacramental Program is run by the Parish, but indeed I thank the teachers for teaching the students about the Sacrament as part of the school Religious Education lessons.

The Sacrament of First Eucharist for some of our Year 4 students (or those who have missed out ) will be celebrated on the weekends of November 11 and 18.  Further information will be provided by the Parish to you. Reminders of  dates will be included in the newsletter in term three.

Work Experience

We welcome five of our previous students from Mazenod, Nazareth and Sacred Heart Secondary Schools. We appreciate your hard work and support and love having you back at SJV!!

AusCycling- Bikes for Schools

This week we received 25 free bikes and helmets from Ride Nation-Bikes for Schools.

In term three and beyond we will be looking at  running a bike education program.

This letter was sent by our Sport's captains on behalf of the school community to thank AusCycling for the bikes.

Dear Mrs Khoo,
We would like to thank AusCycling for their generosity of donating bikes to our school and we are so grateful for everything they’ve done at St John Vianney´s. We love how AusCycling has a mission to provide schools all around Australia with sustainable bicycles for kids, and how they encourage students to extend their skills and experience with riding bikes. At the same time AusCycling is being sustainable and we hope that all kids around Australia will get the opportunity to be a part of your ongoing mission .
Yours Sincerely,
Sport Captains
