Messages from Mrs Trewick

WE ARE PEOPLE OF STRENGTH - WE ARE PEOPLE OF GENTLENESS.

Dear Parents and Carers

Real Schools

Since our last newsletter we have spent time with our facilitator, Paul, from Real Schools. All staff gathered at the Rochester Golf Club to learn more about Restorative Practice and how we will work together to implement Restorative Practices as the underpinning methodology of our school culture.

We are not implementing a program, it’s a commitment to our school’s preferred future.

Now that we have completed our first day together, we are preparing for an in-class support day, staff and leadership mentoring alongside a parent information evening.

The plan for the parent information evening is to wait until the Kildare Centre is reinstated and gather with a sausage sizzle and something for the children, while parents have the opportunity to hear more about Restorative Practices.

We are thrilled to learn more about RP 2.0 and to understand how it compliments our current practices. When we speak of a partnership we are referring to the journey we are taking together.  We look forward to sharing this journey with you.

Enrolments

The wider community is invited to make an appointment for a tour of the school by ringing the school office on 5484 1797. We would be thrilled to share our facilities with you and to talk more about the learning opportunities we offer.

During Term 3, we will be offering more opportunities for families to tour our school and for future students to experience learning at St Joseph's.

Caught Ya! lunch with Mrs Trewick

All students that have received a CAUGHT YA! award from Mrs Trewick will be invited to a Hot Chip lunch on Thursday 22nd June. It will be a great opportunity to spend some time together talking about the good things happening at school.

Communication

We have been refining our communication flow chart so families have clarity when wishing to communicate with the school.

Cheryl Long Service Leave

Mrs Schwab has taken off to Greece today. We wish her a wonderful holiday.

While Cheryl is away, we welcome Mrs Rachel McMahon on Monday and Tuesday. Rachel is familiar to the children as she has spent some time with most classes at St Joseph's.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Take care and stay in touch.
