Year 7 2021 have had a highly successful start to high school. All students are to be commended on their excellent uniform and punctuality as well as learning how to follow the timetable and move between classes.
Last Monday new timetables for the Year 7 cohort began. All students were issued with an updated timetable, and we now have a total of 5 core classes in Year 7 - A, E, H, M and P.
Year 7 are completing the Mentoring program over weeks 3, 4 and 5, to assist them in the transition to high school, with Year 10 mentors delivering the sessions.
At the High Achievers and Welcome to Year 7 Assembly, Year 7 were represented by Zara B and Nicky S, who gave a wonderful speech in reply to the Year 8 welcome to Year 7, 2021.
We also had great participation by Year 7 competitors at our Swimming Carnival on February 8th last week. Congratulations to Ruby C who was the 12 years age champion.
On Friday 19th February Year 7 had their first high school Photo Day.
Towards the end of term the Science faculty will hold their famous annual Egg Day at school for Year 7.
Year Advisers Ms Cheung and Mr Nolan will organise a day for Year 7 in lieu of camp, which we have not held in 2021 due to COVID, to assist in building friendships at this early stage of high school.
Parent Teacher interviews on Tuesday March 30 will be via Zoom in the afternoon/evening. Further information about booking interviews will be sent to families closer to the date.
Some resources to assist families during the first weeks of high school are published on our website, on the Year 7 Curriculum page:

Our "Students & Parents as Partners for Learning" program will commence in the later weeks of term, when Year 7 will develop learning goals for 2021. Again, more information will be sent out to families in upcoming weeks.
Please keep up to date with school events through the school calendar (link on front page of school website) and through the school newsletter (first issue for 2021 will be published in week 5 and families will receive an email alert).
This is a notification to families we will be doing uniform checks starting week 5. Students have been advised in Daily Notices and through email.
If there is a reason to be out of uniform, please send an email to the school or provide a note.
Uniform information is in the Student Information Booklet on the school website, pages 17-18.
Letters will be sent to you to advise of any ongoing concerns.
In particular, please note the uniform is:

All Year 11 students are expected to actively participate in the school sport program until Term 4, 2021. This date coincides with the Summer Grade Finals and has been set so that Year 11 students can participate in Summer Grade teams and complete their competitions. All students, whether they participate in Grade Sport or Recreational Sport, will be expected to continue with sport until that date. Parents/caregivers and students will be notified if this changes. In the event of wet or extreme weather, outdoor sport may be cancelled. Students are usually notified of this by 12pm on the day of sport (Wednesday). If outdoor sport is cancelled, all Year 11 will be permitted to leave school at the end of Period 3. Parents/caregivers will also be notified via a school email. If you would prefer that your daughter always remains at school until 2:47pm if sport is cancelled, please contact the Head Teacher of sport so that appropriate supervision can be arranged.
From Term 1 2021, all NSW public schools will use the Service NSW COVID Safe Check-in. Look for the COVID Safe QR code posters when you enter your child’s school.
