Breakfast Club will run again this term. The children can get their own breakfast, if they need to, then clean up, each morning in the Library. A gold coin donation for each breakfast is appreciated to maintain supplies or $4 for a whole week.
For our Science topic this term we have chosen to look at Our Living World. This whole school unit looks at various topics such as living things, environment, food and farming.
As part of our learning we will be going on two excursions. The first will be to Tropical Fruit World on Tuesday, March 2nd and later in the term we will be visiting an automated dairy farm on Wednesday, 10th March. More details about these excursions will be sent out later in the term. We have already been sampling some tasty and different fruits... take a look at the photos!
In Geography the children will be learning about Australia and our place in the world. This will include learning about the continents, oceans and places in Australia.
We've had a great start to the term with a number of new families joining our school community.
Our classes this term will be Kindergarten to Year Two, taught by Mrs Emerton and Years Three to Six, taught by Mrs Mac (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Ms Moy (Thursday and Friday). Ms Moy is currently on leave and Mrs Mac is filling in for her.
Gaye continues in her role in the office for seven days a fortnight (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and alternate Thursdays) and Donna and Sherrell will also continue to work as helpers in the school.
Rusty works hard each Monday to ensure our grounds are maintained beautifully and also works on general maintenance.
Each Tuesday of Term One the whole school will board the bus and travel to Lismore to spend the afternoon (12 till 2 pm) bowling. The bus will leave school at 11.30 am. Notes have already gone out with more details. Please return these with payment as soon as possible.
The annual Terania District Swimming Carnival will be held on Friday, 12th February (this Friday). Notes have been sent out with more information. Please return these as soon as possible. Please note - there is no bus running to the carnival. Parents and carers will need to arrange transport to and from the Lismore Memorial Baths on the day. We appreciate your support for this event and look forward to an exciting day.
