As we wind down our educational program and reflect on the year's achievements, it is important to remember that the farm operations do not cease. Staff have been busy working on their enterprises and common tasks such as hay storage.
The Dairy will operate each day and staff have been rostered onto milking on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s, so please spare a thought for our dedicated team who will ensure that the Farm is well cared for over the summer break.
Weekend Stock Roster
The Weekend Stock Roster for 2021 has been developed. Please take a moment to familiarise yourself with when you are rostered on and mark your commitments into your diary so you will be ready for the weekend assigned.
Farm Roster
I have modified the Farm Rostering in an effort to be as equitable as possible across all hubs, thereby ensuring students have opportunities in all areas.
Morning milking - Day 1 of the roster (Monday February 1) -
Payton Marley, Erin Donaghy, Brooke Burgess and Casey Cole. Please be organised and ready for Farm with your PPE, long sleeves, long pants and broad brim hat.
New Dairy Technical Officer
Mr Hodgson has recently departed our operation as he moves towards a part-time position or relief work. We would like to welcome Bronte Holmes to our team as a Dairy Technical Officer.
Changes to Units of Competency
In an effort to simplify our curriculum we have made a few small changes to the Units of Competency delivered within Certificate II and III in Agriculture. This will allow us to focus on the learning (delivery) component and ensure that students graduating from the College have a greater depth of knowledge in areas being taught.
Mr Howell and I would like to thank all of our supporters who have assisted us across a very testing school year. To all of our families, staff, Advisory Members and industry supporters we wish you an enjoyable and safe Christmas and New Year.
