Students in K-6 will be undertaking assessments in a variety of subjects, including maths, reading, spelling, RE PDH, and HSIE over the next few weeks leading up to the Primary excursions and Infant’s Christmas Concert. Please ensure your child is at school and that they are prepared, as these are considered to be very important and give teachers and parents valuable information of a student’s current progress and in preparation for 2019 class teachers.
Congratulations to the students who received class awards in K-2 last week: Digby Roger, Claire Shawyer, Bailey Crispin, Sophia Clarke, Jaxon Fishburn, Sophie Foley, Elliot Schwarze, Kate Kernke, Lily Foley, Jonty Melvin-Smith, Fred Miller, Chloe Wargan, Jonah Moore, Layla Mair, Dominic Kenny, Miley Taber, Zali Baker, Lacey Taylor, George Xavier and Des Collins.

Inverell Shire Council is bringing 'Obstacool' to Varley Oval on Thursday 13 December and Friday 14 December 2018 and each of our Stages will be attending across the 2 days. 'Obstacool' includes a range of obstacles that are both challenging and fun for students aged 4-12. The course itself is made up of a giant mix of inflatables together with timber walls, tunnels, rock walls, commando nets and stepping stones. There is no charge to participate and is funded by Inverell Shire Council and the NSW Youth Opportunities program. Each group will have 45 minutes of active fun.
Our Year 6 students will soon be undertaking an education tour of the national capital. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia's history, culture, heritage and democracy.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion the Australian Government is contributing funding of $30 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
