News from Room 21

We read Wilfrid Gordon McDonald Partridge by Mem Fox which is about a boy, Wilfrid, who helps an elderly friend, Nancy, to regain some of her memory. We enjoyed discussing and sharing our memories.

We talked about memories that make us laugh and make us sad, what makes us think of long ago, makes us feel warm inside and as precious as gold.

Room 21 visit Anglicare Grange

Room 21 enjoyed their visit to Anglicare Grange.

After being welcomed by Kate Helimore, Lifestyle Coordinator, and learning about the centre, the children enthusiastically performed four songs to the residents in House 7.

Anglicare Grange is a residential home for elderly people ranging in age from 70 to 100 years .

This is the second year that the Year 2's in Room 21 have visited the nursing home on a regular basis, singing songs and taking part in activities with the residents at Anglicare Grange. The children certainly are sharing acts of kindness in their community.

Lenny a friend from Anglicare Grange said he looks forward to the Grange Primary School children's visits. He remarked that they are more special and enjoyable than Christmas for him.
