Year 10

Radio Show

As the final weeks of Term 4 are now upon us, all young men must be aware of the expectations that are required for them to complete Year 10 successfully.

Year 10 Exam Week

There will be NO exams this semester. In fairness to all students following the extended period of remote learning, the decision has been made to cancel exams. Students may complete topic tests under exam conditions. This decision is at the discretion of the subject teacher or Learning Area Leader.

Term 4 classes for Year 10 students will conclude on Thursday 26 November with the Driver Education excursion taking place on Friday 27 November.

Transition Programs

St Bede’s College Transition details

  • The St Bede’s VCE Transition Program will be conducted online this year
  • All students will have access to online transition resources for every VCE subject. There is an expectation that the work for each subject is completed before the commencement of next year.
  • VCAL students will be contacted regarding requirements by the VCAL team.
  • There will be an Orientation Day on Friday, January 29 for all Year 11 students.

Students attending other colleges or institutions will need to confirm the specific details with their 2021 Year 11 Coordinator.

Graduation

The Year 10 Graduation Assembly will be celebrated on Monday 30 November 2019 at 10 am. Unfortunately, due to Covid restrictions, parents will not be allowed to attend.

The format of the assembly will include a liturgy, speeches and the presentation of subject awards. The assembly will be recorded and a link will be sent to all families. Students will be provided with a Covid-safe lunch after the assembly. This will be a chance for them to say goodbye to their peers and teachers.

Please note on this day students are required to wear full St James College Summer uniform.

School graduations

According to the Catholic Education Melbourne (CEM) operations guide, graduations are permitted face-to-face in Victorian schools. Students from the graduating year level and staff can attend in person. Parents/carers and other family members or friends cannot attend in person but could engage via a recording of the event.

All schools are required to follow public health directions and apply the operational health and safety advice to schools during the graduation ceremony. This includes staff and secondary students over the age of 12 years wearing face masks, physical distancing and practising hand hygiene. Facemasks can be removed briefly for photos or giving a speech.
