REMEMBRANCE DAY LITURGY

On Wednesday 11th November, we gathered via ZOOM in our homerooms, as part of our “Covid Normal” reality, to commemorate Remembrance Day for 2020.  We were led in this special liturgy by our 2020 College Leaders.

Today we have gathered here at the St James College, at this time, to remember all those from every nation, who have given their lives for peace…..”

The liturgy is based on our prayer of thanksgiving for all who have gone before us. We listened keenly and we prayed particularly for the safety of our men and women who are currently serving in difficult circumstances overseas.

Our liturgy concluded with the recitation of the ode, the playing of the last post and a minute’s silence. It was very pleasing to see every student participating in these liturgies with a mature sense of respect and reverence for the occasion.

“Let peace begin with me, let this be the moment now.

With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow,

to take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally.

Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me”
