From the Principal

The only time success comes before work is in the dictionary

Sometimes Principals ask themselves does anyone remember my messages? Well you can imagine my joy when a departing Year 12 student suggested his favourite piece of advice was what I shared above.  So at the risk of sounding like a broken record, I remind all students as they prepare for their End of Year exams that the effort you invest now will make a difference in your upcoming results.

Please note the first 500 copies of the P&F’s More Food With Friends cookbook has sold out. To pre-order online for post-Christmas delivery, please click here: https://hamiltoncollege.vic.edu.au/about-college/parents-friends/recipe-book/. I highly recommend you purchase this wonderful College collection of recipes and photos.  My congratulations to all parents involved.

I am pleased to confirm 2021 term dates.   On Wednesday 27 January, our new Year 7 will meet for their orientation while Year 11 and 12 will head off on Retreat.  Year 8-10 boarders return that same afternoon.  On Thursday 28 January, the 2021 school year commences for our ELC to Year 10 students and Term One concludes Thursday 1 April.

Finally, please note that Mr Neil MacLean will be the Acting Principal while I am on sabbatical for Weeks 8 & 9.  During that fortnight, I will meet with colleagues from northern states to explore a myriad of initiatives first raised at our recent Board Retreat.  I will also draft an action plan that aims to ‘future proof’ College into the next decade.  Should you have any urgent need to contact me, please call Mrs Linda Archer 5572 1355.  I will return in Week 10 for the last days of a most memorable year!
