Magis report

The Magis Competitions and events for 2020 have now  concluded with the completion of the two day Quest Competition last week.  Our Year 7 teams  participated very commendably against teams from other Western Australia colleges – in many case competing against student two to three years older. Congratulations to team one (Caleb Faulkner, Amelia Watts and Elsie Samson), and team 2 (Austin Vujcich, David Gardner and Khyan Mann) on your very impressive performances.

Three excellent gifted and talented events are taking place over the summer holidays, and I recommend these for consideration to Magis students in Years 7, 8 and 9.  Full details and nomination forms are available from the Magis office, and the updated flyer is attached via the link below.

Nominations from current Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 students for positions on the 2021 Magis Committee are now open.  It is expected to keep the numbers of leaders to no more than two  to three  students from each year, with the exception of the outstanding 2021 Year 12 cohort who will take overall student leadership responsibility for the Magis program and where there are currently ten confirmed Magis Committee members. Students interested please simply email me by Friday 4 December. Thank you.

The Magis Chronicle which features results, reports and more than 230 pictures from all 2020 Magis events is available in free PDF Form via the link at the end of this article.  It is available in a top quality hard cover glossy book form for parents or students who wish to purchase one. Orders  via email will be taken up to the end of next week. The cost is $40 per book – please email me if you are interested.
