From the Chair

I am delighted to announce the appointment of two new Directors to the Girton Grammar School Board.

Ms Robyn Lindsay is an Executive Director in the health sector as well as a registered Physiotherapist with experience in many areas of health leadership and management. Robyn works at Bendigo Health where she is the Executive Director of Clinical Operations. Robyn has a strong track record in aligning people with organisational values and experience in critical decision-making through her work in government and non-government sectors. With wide-ranging involvement in planning regional health care into the future, Robyn brings to Girton important strategic development knowledge. The Board looks forward to utilising Robyn’s capability in policy and organisational development to help support the next steps in the school’s direction. Robyn has two children in the Senior School.

Also joining the Board is Mr Terry Karamaloudis. Terry is currently Manager Tourism and Major Events at City of Greater Bendigo and brings to the Board vast experience in aligning values and behaviours at Board level with those at the organisational level to drive a unified approach. Terry has exceptional skills in overseeing the compilation of a range of business strategies and ensuring that plans are implemented on time, on budget and in accordance with State Government expectations. With an outward-looking perspective, Terry is renowned for building key relationships within the Bendigo region and collaborating with stakeholders to realise the tourism potential of Bendigo and the region. The Board looks forward to the contributions that Terry will make on numerous fronts, including ensuring that Girton continues to be an integral part of the broader Bendigo community. Terry has two children in the Senior School.

After 12 years as Deputy Chair, Mr Peter Ashman has confirmed his intention to step down from his role as Deputy while continuing on the Board as a Director. I am delighted to announce that existing Board members Ms Carolyn Starr and Ms Fleur Jackson have been appointed to the positions of Deputy Chairs.

On behalf of the Board, my deepest thanks to Peter for his loyalty and dedication to the role of Deputy Chair. I look forward to working with new and existing Board members during a busy Term 4 and beyond.

Mr David Jemmett
