Angela Nolan

Angela is the Chief Executive Officer of St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, a position she has held since 2018. Prior to this Angela was the Executive Director of Acute Services, having transitioned from the role of Executive Director People and Corporate Support in 2016. 

 

Angela has been instrumental in the streaming of functions and economics in healthcare. She led a series of initiatives to drive improved patient access and length of stay and management of elective surgery wait lists and activity. She also provided oversight of the development of a nursing workforce management plan designed to reduce clinical risk, more effectively manage salary and wages expenditure and improve productivity, whilst maintaining high standards of patient care.

 

Angela began her career as a Chartered Accountant at Arthur Andersen, working with organisations across a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, banking and finance and superannuation. In 1991/1992, she completed a professional year with the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants. Angela also holds a Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations from The University of Melbourne and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) from Monash University.

 

Earlier in her career, Angela was Global Head of HR Advisory and Consulting with ANZ, where she led significant change programs that involved establishing new businesses, organisational redesign and restructuring, out and in-sourcing, offshoring, acquisitions, divestments and cost reduction.

 

Angela also holds director positions on many boards, which include the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre, St Vincent’s Institute of Research and The Akenhead Centre for Medical Discovery.  She served for 10 years on the board of Inclusion Melbourne. In 2001, Angela was awarded the Australian Centenary Medal in recognition of her work with them.
