Woodwork

Foundation Woodwork
The Foundations have been continuing to grow their skills in the workshop. Last Friday they were able to show off their mastery of using a sanding block, sandpaper, a hammer and nails to make these cute echidnas/hedgehogs/porcupines with nail spines. Students also displayed creativity and innovation by adding nail ‘limbs’ and facial features to the original design idea.
In previous lessons we had practiced our skills by hammering nails into clay and using a clothes peg to hold the nail steady when first learning to use a hammer.
Our next project is to construct simple catapults for ping pong balls using wood, glue, wooden pegs and plastic lids.
