Senior School Happenings
By the time this edition of Whytalla is published, the Year 12 VCE students will have had their concluding classroom lessons and will be in the final stages of preparation for their all-important exams. We wish them all the very best for these significant performance opportunities and hope that each of them feel as though they have done the best that they possibly can to allow them to achieve to their potential. I know the senior staff have done all they can to ensure that the students are best-placed and I thank them all for their hard work and dedication. Good luck Year 12s!
The Years 10 and 11 students will be heading into their exams from the 17th to the 20th November. The timetable has been distributed to all students and there is also a copy in this newsletter, if it is required. As we were unable to hold exams in the middle of the year, these will be a really important learning opportunity for all students and we encourage them to approach them with diligence and a desire to show what they are capable of.
Subsequent to the exams, the students will step up into two weeks of Head Start, which is the beginning of their school work for 2021. This is essentially where the students move into the next year of schooling and begin some of the work required. We encourage all students to be fully prepared and ready to tackle this with gusto, as it is an important step in their senior school learning.
This year has been testing times for all of our senior students and while the final celebrations and endings will also be different this year, we do wish all of our departing Year 12 VCE students the best for their futures. We are always excited for the students when they venture out into the wider world, but it is also bittersweet, as they have been part of our community for so long.
Our departing Year 12s will be remembered for their desire to always give anything a go, including their love of dressing up for any occasion, as their recent Halloween costumes can attest.

Year 12's last day
Friday November 6 saw chaos at Edenhope College. After several years without one, the Class of 2020 celebrated their final day with a Muck up Day!
From student cars parked the wrong way in the staff car park, to the corridor becoming a scooter race track, tables over turned, chairs tied together in the various classrooms as well as the staff room and decorations a plenty (including some wonderful staff photos posted around the school) the Year 12's had clearly been planning for quite some time!! Mr McClure's office was also visited by the Year 12's and he spent most of Friday morning trying to get back behind his desk!
I think the class of 2020 have inspired some younger students to start planning for their last day!
Staff joined students for a special lunch followed by a game of Kahoots, and musical chairs lots of fun was had by all who participated and were spectating!
