Acting Principal's Report

Year 12’s Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!

The crop of 2020 have finished and are now about to start navigating exams. All of us at the college wish them the best as they move forward with careers and further education. It’s the end of the road for some families at Edenhope College, but for others there are still family members continuing.

Parent Survey

Just a reminder to all parents that you have been sent a link via email, Xuno and Facebook. Please take the time to complete this survey by Friday 13th or November. It is your chance to have a say in your child’s education

School Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

  • The year has been a tough one for everyone in our learning environment but hopefully we are coming out the other side. Part of helping the students resettle is getting them back into routine. We’re big on the three school values:
  • Being Respectful
  • Being Safe
  • Being Willing to Learn

As a parent can you help us with settling the students back in, by sending them to school in full uniform. If there are any issues with this please contact us as we have a multitude of school uniform clothing sitting in the front office. This helps students with the respect component of our values but more importantly sets them up with a life skill that serves them outside of school.

School Review

Yesterday saw the final day of our school review that sets us up with our school goals over the next four years. Thanks to all students, staff, parents and the review team who have all contributed to setting the school’s future direction. The process has been a positive experience with the overall view of having the best learning environment for our students. From the review we set up a four year School Strategic Plan (SSP), and from that we get our yearly Annual Implementation Plan (AIP), which are single year plans with strategies to help achieve the four year SSP. So once again thanks to all who’ve contributed.

Staffing

We have nearly completed our 2021 staffing profile and only have a couple of middle school positions left to fill. Those positions are advertised now and we hope to have them filled shortly. At the start of 2021, in Term 1, the school will advertise for a substantive principal and that process will see someone in the role by the end of Term 1. I’m enjoying the Acting Principal role currently and will look to put my hand up as one of the candidates for the ongoing role. Whoever gets the role will have a great team to work with as the school has employed up to 10 new staff for 2020 & 2021 and already had quality onsite. So exciting times for the learning environment and most importantly the students!!

Paul Perversi our new Year 9 – 12 Mathematics teacher spent all day on Monday getting to know his students for 2021.
