DET Government Iniative
The Victorian Government committed $20.7 million over four years to provide sanitary items in
government schools. In partnership with the Victorian Government, Asaleo Care have manufactured a purpose-built dispenser that has now been installed in the female toilets at GRPS.
This initiative aims to:
• provide students with the confidence that sanitary items will be readily accessible at school
• relieve students of the stigma, anxiety and discomfort that can be associated with menstruation and its management, and
• ease the cost of living for families.
Lack of easy access to sanitary items can negatively affect attitudes, behaviours and equal participation in sport and everyday school activities. By providing access to sanitary items these barriers can be reduced.

Do you have a valid Health Care Card, Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Pensioner Concession Card or are you a temporary foster parent? You may be eligible to receive $125.00 per child to allocate towards your child’s Camps, Sports and Excursions. For more information please see the office.
Every Victorian child should have access to the world of learning opportunities that exist beyond the classroom. The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund will ensure that no student will miss out on the opportunity to join their classmates for important, educational and fun activities.
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors, excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works and sports teach teamwork, discipline and leadership. All are part of a healthy curriculum. CSEF will be provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance will be paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.

PARENT PAYMENTS 2020
Payment of Essential Education Items are due Thursday 5th March 2020.
At Great Ryrie Primary School, we are proud to offer our students a comprehensive and well-resourced educational program. The Victorian Government provides government schools with some funding towards the costs of teaching the standard curriculum and basic operational costs including staff wages, contract cleaning, gas, electricity, telephone, water rates, some maintenance of buildings, facilities and grounds, some curriculum support and professional development. Unfortunately, these government funds are not enough to support the programs offered at most schools. School Council therefore requires additional funds to be paid by families so that we can continue to provide the quality programs and facilities currently offered at Great Ryrie Primary School. School Council makes every effort to keep all school costs and charges to a minimum amount.
FINANCIAL SUPPORT
School Council appreciates that families may sometimes experience financial difficulty and makes every effort to keep costs to a minimum to ensure the affordability for families. A number of support options are available to eligible parents/guardians who have difficulty making payments (as outlined in the Parent Payments Policy and the Hardship Policy on the school’s website). Families who do not have the current capacity to pay their Essential Education Items are asked to contact the school Business Manager via the school office, by phone 9870 6098 or by email great.ryrie.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au. Any information about your financial circumstances, payment arrangements or financial status will be kept strictly confidential.
