Wurrin (Year 8 & 9) News 

Year 9 Japanese 

Year 9 Japanese students cooled down last week designing and creating their own Japanese kakigoori (shaved ice) and describing the process. The Year 9 group look forward to many hands-on language learning activities this year.

2020 - Year 9 / 10 Top End Tour

Students in Years 9 and 10 have the opportunity to attend the Darwin Top End Tour in August this year.  Students who have previously placed an expression of interest are reminded that their deposit of $210 and the paperwork is due by Friday the 14th of February to the General Office. 

Dates: Tour 1: 6th August to 14th August

              Tour 2: 15th August to 23rd August

Students will have the opportunity to visit some amazing destinations including Mataranka Thermal Springs, The Devils Marbles, Daly Waters, Katherine Gorge & Kakadu just to name a few. More information is available from the College or by contacting Tour Coordinator - Tracey Rendell on 5150 4800.

Swimming Sports

Students have had house meetings this week to sign up for the upcoming swimming sports which will take place on Tuesday 18th of February. Swimming Sports is a compulsory day for all students. Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen and a drink bottle.

Year 9 Drama

Year 9 Drama students have had a great start to the year, with lots of games and activities to help build group dynamics and get to know each other. Students have been working with tableaux (frozen scenes), learning the layout of a proscenium stage and picking up some handy hints and tips for physical performance. The Year 9 Drama students are such a talented group of young people and everyone is looking forward to what the rest of the semester holds.
