Tips for easing kids back into OSHC

Returning to before and after school care this term can be an overwhelming experience for children, particularly if they are also settling into school after the long break since term 1. We have a few tips for parents to ease children into our program and make the transition as seamless as possible.

Tips to help your child feel comfortable in OSHC:

• Give your child as much advance warning as you can that they’ll be coming to Camp Australia.
• Speak with our service Coordinator if your child is nervous and let us know how we can help your child feel more comfortable.
• If there is something in particular your child would like to play with when they’re in our care, encourage them to tell us or let us know in the session.
• Our educators are here to provide help and support and want your children to feel confident approaching and talking to us for any reason.

It’s all about us seeing the experience through your child’s eyes and acknowledging that these have been difficult times after the change in lifestyle we have had to adapt to recently. We’re here to make before and after school care visits the best experience possible – for your child and for families.
