OSHC

Hello all – our vacation care program is live! See link below. Please note the Tuesday excursion is extremely limited, so first in, best dressed! It is also crucial that if you are coming that day, that you arrive before 8:30, so that we can catch public transport. Please also discuss with your children beforehand the importance of public bus safety – and look out for a permission slip closer to the date once you have booked in!

We are so excited for another richly fun, exciting and educational vacation care! Please remember to pack lunch for your child(ren) each day, and come with sunscreen already applied!

See you all soon.

Andrew.

A Message from Emily

We did it! Last week of term 3! I’m sure for some this time is met with a sigh of relief and others a twinge of anxiety. I wanted to give you a tool for these holidays to challenge your ability to stay present and calm. How we think affects how we feel. If we are constantly thinking ahead, about all there is to achieve, to do, to worry about, our thoughts begin to affect our feelings. Feeling anxious can make our thoughts focus on a potential worry or fear of the future which may not even happen. In these moments, try to bring yourself back to the present. One tool I use with some of the students, which I have mentioned before is ‘count-down to presence’. Find a quiet place to yourself and begin to notice; 5 things you can see, 4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 1 thing you can taste. It’s after we are calm that our brains are capable of being able to focus on the positives of the day, what’s happening right now and how we can best approach it.

Stay mindful not mind-full,

Emily Morgan, Pastoral Care Worker

CHECK: Covid measures

Here are the current recommendations from the Department for Education:

COVID safe measures

  • All students and staff must stay home if unwell, even mildly. If students become unwell at school, we are unable to care for them here and we will be contacting you to collect them asap. Please have a plan in place for someone who can collect your child within a half hour.
  • We will be maximising ventilation by leaving doors/windows open, using air conditioning and fans, and keeping doors and windows open.
  • Adults will practise physical distancing where possible.
  • We will continue to practise and promote hand and respiratory hygiene. Hand sanitiser will be provided for regular use, and disposable masks.

Face masks

  • We are still recommending adults and children in Years 3-6 to wear masks inside, to minimise the risk of infection. However we are now leaving this up to individual discretion.

Pick up and drop off

  • In the morning please continue to drop children off at one of the entrances to the school grounds, and allow them to make their own way to their classrooms. If you need to speak to your child’s teacher, please make contact through the SeeSaw app.
  • We are now welcoming families to come into the yard at the end of the day

Assemblies

  • Assemblies are now allowed to be held in person once again with COVID safe measures in place, once a fortnight on the Friday of every odd week at 2:30 unless informed otherwise.
