A week of celebrations

We've had a fabulous week of celebrations to finish the term, with a play, the Music Showcase and our Day of Positivity.

On Wednesday, Kelly's Year 1/2 class performed a fabulous play for the whole school based on the book Where the Wild Things Are. Thank you to Sally Putnam for generously donating her time to teach and direct the children.

On Thursday we had our amazing annual Music Showcase. All students in Years 3-6 and a handful or Year 1-2 students were involved in choirs, bands and individual performances. We were all so impressed with their skill and confidence in performing. A significant number of students were unwell, and it was great to see others being brave and 'stepping up' to take the lead.  Thank you to our wonderful music teachers Sarah Butler, Cara Bilstein, Guy Phillips, Monica Klevins and Oscar Sarre, and congratulations to all of the students for their commitment all year!

We have been learning about positivity all term and today we held a Day of Positivity with the teachers running positive activities for cross age groups all day.  Here are a few photos of the 8 activities we had running: yoga, judo, the cup song, Uraidla Amazing Race, mindful art, dance and choreography, surprise positive messages to staff, and play:

We finished up the day with an inaugural staff vs student basketball match. Both teams did really well.... and it was VERY competitive, but the staff won. Better luck next time kids! 😀

Terrific Kids Term 3

Congratulations to our Kiwanis Terrific Kids for term 3, Ellie Koay and Hazel Nitschke! We all think you are both terrific kids; congratulations on winning this award. 🎉

Welcome

Welcome to Gisele Chernishev who joins us in Year 5. We welcomed Gisele's brother Hector earlier this year and are very happy to have her here with us as well.

Pupil Free Day

Just a reminder that next term we have a Pupil Free Day on the first day of term, so there will be no school on Monday 17 October. Our staff will learn about student wellbeing and self-regulation, with the final training day of the Berry Street Education Model. This will be our last Pupil Free Day for the year; but we also have a School Closure day on Monday November 7th following the Uraidla Show.

See you here on Tuesday October 18!

Have a great holiday break everyone!
