A message from our Principal
Dear Parents
Welcome to Education Week 2022 – Creating Futures. This year we continue to celebrate the journey students and learners take throughout the NSW Education system, focusing on how we are creating futures for our students, staff and families. From the first days in child care to post-school pathways, our education system is preparing young people to be agile thinkers and lifelong learners. We celebrate all types of learning that occurs at all levels across our education system and we have a shared responsibility in helping to shape the lives and create the future of today’s learners. Public education can change the lives of not just our students, but also the lives of our teachers, staff, families and communities.

Lara played Centre, Wing Defence and Goal Defence across the 3 day tournament and was an important member of the team. The Western team played some really tough and close games over the championship, and won 1 game against the Barrier Region. Congratulations Lara.
Next Friday 12th August, 46 children will be attending the PSSA District Athletics Carnival which will be held at MacKillop College starting at 9:00 am and concluding at approximately 3:30 pm. Just a reminder that parents are responsible for transporting students to and from this event. Children should meet with Mr Datt (team manager) on the back oval on their arrival at MacKillop and sit as part of the Bathurst PS team. We wish all our Athletes the best of luck!
Our Book Week/Book Fair/Book Character Parade will take place on Friday 26th August We will be celebrating Book Week which will be held in three weeks’ time on the 26th of August. Students are invited to dress-up. Parents and friends of the school will be invited to attend the Book Fair as well as the Book Character Parade. We hope to see as many parents, grandparents and friends of the school as possible on the day. The theme for this year is “Dreaming with eyes open".
We are commencing the careful planning for the upcoming school year. To help us in being as organised as possible we ask any families within our school intake area who are yet to enrol their child for Kindergarten 2023 to do so as soon as possible. It is encouraged to apply for enrolment, via our school website at https://bathurst-p.schools.nsw.gov.au. If you have any questions please contact our front office.
Close Contacts Attending School - Students and staff who are identified as close contacts and have no symptoms can attend school (excluding support units) if they follow certain guidelines agreed with NSW Health in addition to the NSW Health guidelines:
• They must notify the school if they are intending to return under this provision.
• They should conduct a daily RAT and return a negative result each morning before attending school for 5 school days.
• Primary close contact school students are recommended to wear a mask indoors (except when eating or exercising).
If any parent has any concerns regarding school life, please do not hesitate to contact me.
