Term Three 2022

Learning and Teaching at St Louis

This term we have jumped into learning. Our focus for inquiry is Science.  Our students are engaged and using multiple skills including observing, classifying, inferring, communicating, predicting and hypothesising.

They are investigating many Biological and Chemical outcomes related to Science and they are supported by the planned learning that is provided as part of National Science Week 2022  'Glass More than Meets the Eye' 13 - 21 August. During this week all classes from Year 2 to Year 6 are journeying to Science Works to explore the many scientific exhibitions within the Museum,

At home you can support your child's scientific learning by valuing your child's questions, exploring and finding the answers together, providing time and space to explore, accept that explorations can be messy, learn from and encourage mistakes, invite curiosity, make good use of electronic devices and use items you have at home to experiment and explore.

Our Goals for Mathematics include

the Launch, Explore, Summarise lesson structure to develop critical and creative thinking skills and inquiry based learning. In English the focus is on expanding vocabulary and developing individual writing goals.

Our students are encouraged to have a growth mindset by making errors and learning what steps to take to succeed. Celebrate mistakes as this is a vital part of learning!
