Music News from Ms. Bridget Finch.

Two weeks ago we had a visit from the Australian Ballet who performed 'The Story of Pomi and Gobba' for the whole school. This performance is based on the Wiradjuri Dreamtime story ‘Gobbagumbalun and Pomingalarna’ which is local to the NSW city of Wagga Wagga.

Each grade then attended an hour long workshop, where they were inspired to wonder how they might use movement as a fraction, choreography to create patterns or what the angle of an arabesque is or how they might balance weight when lifting a partner. Students also used their bodies to express how they thought the characters Pomi and Gabba felt and how they would move if they too were a tree frog or burrowing frog.
