Well done to all the students for their effort and dedication in giving up their time to practice with Bu Pratiwi. Sayembara Lisan is such a great opportunity for students to have a chance in improving their Indonesian orally. The competition is always popular among top-performing schools and we are very pleased with this achievement. We look forward to having another great performance in 2023.

Indonesian Day

What a wonderful day we had celebrating our Hari Indonesia - Indonesian Day on Tuesday 16 August, which is also Indonesian Independence Day. All Prep to Year 6 students had exciting opportunities to further explore the Indonesian culture as part of our Indonesian language and cultural program.

Here are some snippets that happened during Indonesian Day:

  • Students were immersed in Indonesian culture during the incursion with Baguskan.
  • Students had plenty of fun doing the in-class activity with their classroom teacher.
  • We’ve raised over $300 to send to The Orangutan Project from the lolly guessing jar. A big congratulations to Christian V (5R) for winning the lolly guessing jar, correctly guessing that there were 202 lollies inside the jar!
  • Lastly, we saw some great performances from Preps to Year 6 during Assembly to celebrate Indonesian Day.

I want to say a big thank you to Bridie O, George W, and Alethia L for such a wonderful contribution and helping during Indonesian Day. I am very grateful to have you as my Indonesian Captains.

Here are some pictures to show just how much fun the kids had during Indonesian Day.
