Students have made a fabulous start to Term 3, cheered on by our much-loved mascot, Ivy. They are meeting the challenge of new texts and focus words with enthusiasm.  We've had a few laughs whilst trying to pronounce tongue-twisters like unanimously, synonymous, and simultaneously, especially during flashcards when we attempt to say as many words as we can in one minute. 

This term we will continue to focus on fluency while reading aloud, increasing vocabulary by learning new words and what they mean, and comprehension strategies to improve understanding. Students are growing in confidence as they practise brainstorming, sentence structure, punctuating, and editing. 

It is wonderful to see our year 7 students developing their literacy skills.
