Stuffed Toy Project

Over the course of Semester One students in 8A, D, F, H and I, completed their Textiles class as part of the Technology rotations. Their project for the class was to create a stuffed toy which we would donate to a local charity, as a way of giving back to our community.

Students in these classes produced a large number of stuffed toys which we have donated over the last couple of weeks.

Wantirna College has teamed up with Each and Uniting who have accepted our donations and have provided some amazing feedback and gratitude. Fleur, our contact at Uniting, sent this in response to the donations 'The soft toys your students have made are adorable. Well done to them all for completing their projects! Please pass on my thanks, and let your young people know that they’ll be well received by the children who attend our service.'

We look forward to teaming up with the same organisations at the end of this year to donate our stuffed toys from this semester.

Thinking about Textiles Product Design, or Woodwork For Year 11 or 12?

Yr 12 Product Design students are working hard in the studios and workshops to create and make their final VCE outcomes. Feel free to pop in and see them in action during Thursday lunchtimes. If you have any questions about VCE Product Design & Technology these are the students to speak to and they will be happy to answer any of your questions when you pop into the lunchtime session.

You can also talk to Ms Rumble & Mr Beovich by sending a direct message or going to see them in B-block staff room.

We are super proud our VCE Students!

Here are some examples of VCE Product Design & Technology – Textiles production processes:

Display Wall

The display wall in the Textiles room is making progress. The students will be able to reflect on some of the equipment being used within their projects by using the tools & equipment terminology wall. The silhouettes were traced on illustrator and cut out of cardboard with the laser cutter. Using the cut out cardboard as a stencil the silhouettes were traced on the wall. and after the tracing was done it was painted black. The equipment names were designed in silhouette then cut with our vinyl cutter and placed on the wall.

A huge thank you to Siobhan Haynes 12W for supporting the team with the interior designs .
