Parent/Student Evening Cooking Workshops

Over the past couple of weeks, the Food Studies teachers have run a series of Parent/Student workshops for year 8 students. These workshops highlighted the types of products students make in Year 9 Bakery/Café, and Foods Around the World. 

 

The Bakery/Café workshop took on a French feel by producing delicious French Meringue Nests. The parents and students worked together to make their nests, filling them with cream, fruit, and a spoonful of passionfruit pulp.

Foods Around the World made Frou-Frou Cupcakes. These delicious cupcakes are a blend of coconut, sour cream and raspberries topped with a delicious coconut flavoured cream cheese icing. They just melt in your mouth; one bite and you are hooked.

It was wonderful seeing parents and their children working together to make a product, which they were able to take home and enjoy or share with the rest of the family.
