“Per l’Australia” (to Australia)
This week we welcomed Signora Giulia Aruta and Signor Mario Colombo to our year 5/6 classes to share their stories about Italians migrating to Australia. We learned how leaving home and country can present different challenges and open new horizons. Giulia and Mario were generous in giving us their time to reflect on their experiences and ask them many questions about their reasons for choosing Australia and their early impressions when they arrived and settled in a new land. We are very lucky to welcome such wonderful people to our school.
