A message from our Principal

Dear Parents,

What an incredible day our Swimming Team had at last weeks District Swimming Carnival. We had many children swim personal best times, qualify for Western trials and win District Champions but the most significant part of the day was the school spirit and support our children and parents had for each other. Congratulations to the children, parents and staff. We are a proud school.

A special congratulations to Mia McClements, who was announced 11 years District Swimming Champion, Lachlan Simeonidis, Junior Boys District Champions and Oliver Hamer, 11 years District Champion. Outstanding results.

Mia McClements 11 Years District Swimming  Champion

Lachlan Simeonidis - Junior Boys District Swimming Champion

Oliver Hamer - 11 years District Swimming Champion

We also had Tom Hamer and Oliver Hamer break District Swimming records. Terrific work, boys.

At the conclusion of the carnival, Bathurst Public School won both the Champion School point score and the handicap point score - great work BPS!

As a staff we continue to modify our Assessment and Reporting practices so we can ensure parents obtain feedback each term on their child’s progress from their child’s classroom teacher. At anytime, if parents have any concerns or issues about your child’s learning, you are encouraged to contact the school to make an appointment to speak with your child’s classroom teacher. The Assessment and Reporting schedule for 2019 is:

  • Term 1 Week 4 – Thursday 21st February-Friday 22nd February – Support Unit Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 1 Week 6 - Monday 4th March -Friday 8th March – Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 2 Week 9 – Semester 1 Reports home
  • Term 3 – Parent/Teacher Interviews
  • Term 4 - Semester 2 Reports home

Parent/Teacher Interviews are being held for  many classes next week Monday 4th March - Friday 8th March. These meetings will allow parents to meet teachers, talk about what is to be taught this year and how your child has settled into the 2019 school year, plans for the school year, class expectations and parent expectations. It is not to late to book an appointment to talk with your child's classroom teacher or Math's teacher. Please contact the office at school or book an appointment online on the Parent Portal.
