The mid way point of Term 2 is nearly here and the cold/wet weather has begun to arrive, reminding families that all students need to be in full school uniform. The Uniform Shop is fully stocked and orders can be made onlinefor collection or bought directly on Monday 8:15am - 9:15am and Wednesday 3:00pm - 4:00pm.

Our Year 4/5 have had the opportunity of attending camp to Normanville over the past three days. As we would all be aware camp is an unbelievable experience that provides opportunities for students to connect in a new environment, challenge  themselves and undertake activities that they may not have the opportunity to do before.

Thank you to all our teachers for making our camps happen. They are a huge commitment and as can been seen in the photos a brilliant experience.

Reconciliation Week

This Friday marks the start of National Reconciliation Week.

Reconciliation is a core priority for us as a school. Our students and teachers are leading the way by making sure First Nations histories and cultures are embedded in our school.

We continuously reflect on what reconciliation means and how we can strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples.

You’re encouraged to embrace the theme Be Brave. Make Change. It is a challenge to all of us to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.

Please see further into the newsletter our plans for Reconciliation Week.

OHSC News

Kelly Stephen our wonderful Director has informed the school that she will be resigning on the 2nd June to take on a new role outside the school.

This is very sad news for school community as Kelly has been a huge asset for the past 7 years. She is going to be missed immensely.

In the interim Rheanne Kearnan will be our Acting Director while we go through the process to appoint a new Director.

National Volunteer Week and Education Support Personnel Day

Over the past week it has been National Volunteer Week and also Education Support Personnel Day.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all our volunteers for the value that they add to our wonderful school and we look forward to having you involved with the school further as COVID restrictions are reduced.

To our support workers, thank you for working closely with our educators to support classroom learning, for providing the one-on-one support that some of our students so desperately need, for managing the front office and all administration  so effectively and for keeping our schools safe, clean, well maintained and welcoming places to be.
