Principal's Report

Term 2

You may recall that I previously advised that we received $10 million in State Government funding to further improve our buildings and facilities. We now have a timeline for these works. They will commence in early July and will be completed in September 2023.

The first stage of the works will be to construct a two-storey building with 12 classrooms at the Gleeson Drive side of the Bundoora Campus next to the gymnasium. When this is completed the current Secondary 7/8 building will be demolished and the area that the building is currently on will be landscaped. The current Upper Primary play space will also be re-landscaped to provide separate areas that will meet the needs of both our Primary and Secondary students. These works will provide our students with outstanding modern facilities.

Following this, there will be works at the Watsonia Campus including a refurbishment of the administration building and a new building to be constructed next to it where the bus shed and gym/library/art room are now situated.

While there is much to look forward to, the works at the Bundoora Campus will lead to a further reduction in available parking spaces. We will be implementing a ‘drop off’ period on the front driveway in the morning similar to the current ‘pick up’ period we currently offer from 3.10-3.20 after school. We encourage all parents/carers to utilise this option. Further information regarding this will be provided soon.

While I am discussing car parking, please note that the car park at the back of the school, including the yellow striped area, is only to be used by parents/carers who have the required accreditation. This is important as we have a student who requires the use of this car park each day.

Principal Award - Kaliah Worn

Kaliah has worked very hard this term to be engaged in her learning within the classroom.

Kaliah continues develop her ability to remain calm when frustrating things happen, and looks to find a better solution to problems that occur.

She has also shown herself to be a caring friend, looking out for other students, and asking students to play games during break times.

Well done Kaliah, keep up the great work.
