New Attendance Email

The office has implemented a new email account "attendance@scc.tas.edu.au" and we are requesting that all attendance emails now be directed to this email address. This will prevent these very important messages from being lost amongst the many emails that are received daily.

Attendance emails may include daily absences and also advising of future absences.

All other general enquiries can still be forwarded through to the office on the admin@scc.tas.edu.au email address.

Thank you for your assistance with this new procedure.

Huon & Channel Cross Country

Students represented SCC at the Huon and Channel Cross Country last week with some of the teams winning in their division! 

NOTE: The lower the points the better the score for Cross Country.

National Reconciliation Week 2022

This week is National Reconciliation Week – May 27 to June 3. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. 

SCC students have been engaging with various National Reconciliation Week activities in some of the classes. There are also some great books in the College library to help explain the purpose of this week to students. 

Today the Kinder students taught an Aboriginal song to their Grade 3 buddies. Students also worked together to draw the Aboriginal symbols in sand to send messages to each other.

This year’s theme – Be Brave. Make Change – is a challenge to us to Be Brave and tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation so we can Make Change for the benefit of all Australians.

Red Day Fundraiser! - RED Casual Dress Day - Next week!

The College will be having a RED Casual Dress Day NEXT Thursday, 9th June. Please bring a $2 coin and wear RED! - A red shirt, red jumper, red jacket, red scarf or just a red ribbon! - All proceeds will be given to Red Shield Appeal for The Salvation Army.

SCC's Digital Doorknock for the Salvos

Thank you to those who have donated. We have raised $195 so far!

Southern Christian College is again excited and proud to support this trusted organisation - The Salvation Army - and especially our local Salvos in the Kingborough-Huon area with this year’s Red Shield Appeal.

The Salvation Army Kingborough-Huon Corps works hard to make a difference in the lives of those doing it tough in our local community. Salvos meet people at their point of need and walk alongside them in their journey of recovery. Their vision is to transform the Kingborough-Huon area "one life at a time with the love of Jesus"!

If you can, please donate to our school fundraising page so that we can support the Kingborough-Huon Salvos to provide social and community services in our area. Together, we can help make a difference in someone’s life!

Art Department Request (Repeat)

If you have any leftover bubble wrap lying around at home the art department would love to use it for an exciting upcoming art lesson. Donations gratefully received at the school office.

COVID RAT Kits (Repeat)

We are aware that some households have quite a stock of RAT kits at home now. However, for those students that may not have any left or enough to fulfill your 7 day close contact testing, please contact the office and we will send some home.

SCC Midford Uniform Shop - Update to Wednesday hours (Repeat)

Please note that the Uniform Shop manager will now have a scheduled lunch break on Wednesdays between 11:45am-12:15pm.

Wednesdays – 8:30am-3.30pm (Closed between 11:45am-12:15pm)

Thursdays – 12.30-3:30pm
