Yr 7/8 Debating Team

On Thursday 1st August, Jazmin Salah, Emily Bunni, Eana Dimog, Lily Hosking, Emma Negrete and Sarah Spicer participated in an opportunity to be mentored by an experienced debater, Juliette Capomolla. Juliette has had many years of experience competing in school debating at a high level over the last few years and more recently has been appointed as an adjudicator for the Debating Association of Victoria (DAV).  Juliette introduced students to the competitive world of debating sharing her own experiences and planning tips for their training ahead. The girls enjoyed the stimulating discussion and amazing mentoring by Juliette which was very timely since they were all braced to complete debates in their own English classes that day!  All students, including Leteasha Teao in Yr 8, will be attending four evening training sessions at Mt Erin Secondary College throughout September and October in readiness for representing the College in the DAV Debating Competition in 2020.
