Welcome back to another exciting year in Performing Arts. All students will be studying Performing Arts: Prep students with Mrs Sharron Cramer during first semester, Year Two students with their classroom teachers and the other year levels with me. Most of the school is starting with a Music / singing focus while the Year 6 students are studying Drama and stagecraft in preparation for our musical production.

Musical Production

This year's Musical will be another Broadway Junior production: Alice in Wonderland!

Miss Louise McLeod will be returning to Kingswood to direct this production.

There will be two casts [A & B] with performance dates as follows: 

Tuesday 1st September Cast A Matinee

Tuesday 1st September Cast A Evening show

Wednesday 2nd September Cast A Evening show

Tuesday 8th September Cast B Matinee

Tuesday 8th September Cast B Evening show

Wednesday 9th September Cast B Evening show

Students in Years 5 and 6 are able and encouraged to try out for auditions. Details will follow once they have been finalised.

If your child is successful in gaining a main role, it is essential that they are available to attend rehearsals throughout Terms 2 and 3.

We will inform the school community as to which classes will be in each cast later this term. 

Choirs

At Kingswood we have a Junior Choir for students in Years Prep to 2 and a Senior Choir for students in Years 3 to 6.

Senior Choir is on Tuesday lunchtimes and Junior Choir is on Wednesday lunchtimes. 

Prep students will be able to join our Junior Choir once they are at school full time.

There is no cost to participate, so if your child / children enjoy singing, please encourage them to come along.

Both choirs will be performing at the Freaky Friday Fete between 4.00pm and 4.30pm.

Year 2 students will also be singing at the fete in this timeslot.
