Fun In The Library

We have celebrated Book Week with lots of activities and special guests.  The theme of “Escape to Everywhere” provided great opportunity for creativity and displays in the Library.

Local authors David Whish-Wilson and Sean Gorman visited the Secondary school and talked to Year 7, 8 and 9 English students about their book, “Derby:  WA Footy fans on the game’s greatest rivalry”.  While the students had fun chatting and boasting about their favourite teams, they also learnt that there is more to football than just the game. The authors relayed stories of indigenous sports stars, of local folklore and heritage, and social history through their interviews with 40 Eagles and Dockers supporters. Great fun!

All secondary students were challenged with a Book Week Home Room Quiz – all winning homeroom groups will be announced and rewarded next week.

Year 12 Drama students also came to the Library to read Book Week short-listed books  with Primary students – a great initiative which the younger students loved. Many thanks to Sam Moloney and his team.
