GECPA News

Thanks to Glen Eira College’s staff for all their amazing work and helping kids and families in these tough times. The change to online learning has been so smooth due to the extraordinary efforts of GEC staff including over the school holidays. And thanks to our students for their hard work and to their supportive families.

Feedback and Suggestions

Do you have any suggestions to improve home-based school – from your experience or other sources?

GECPA is collecting feedback on parents and students experiences of online learning to forward (as a group with no names attached) to Sheereen to improve online teaching at Glen Eira. Some kids have enjoyed a walk before and after school as if they were walking to school to get a break from extra sitting. Blue screen glasses have helped some students eyes manage more screen time. One former GEC student’s uni engineering lecture was interrupted by the lecturers young daughter insisting on showing the class her fairy barbie – the joys of teaching from home! What are your experiences and suggestions? Please email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au

The Glen Eira College Parents Association

The Glen Eira College Parents Association are a group of parents and carers who support the schools community with events, news, friendships and a little fundraising - All GEC parents and guardians welcome. Our meetings are friendly and informal, and your level of involvement is up to you.   If you are interested in being involved, want to come to any of our meetings or are not already receiving our emails, please send an email to gecpa@gec.vic.edu.au.

Volunteers (welcome even in a small way). We know not everyone is able to make a regular commitment, but we also rely on people who turn up just once or more during the year to help out a little. And we also need people to join our committee.
