Art in Isolation

A special invitation from the Art Teachers at GEC

The Year 7 and Year 9 students are engaging in an artistic investigation on the theme ‘A Room with a View’. This unit of work enables the students to explore their home environment as a source of artistic inspiration. Our students will be creating a mixed-media artwork focusing on a room with a view to the outside world (through a window or door). The students will be using a minimum of 3 types of media to create their artwork (E.g. pencil, pen, coloured pencil, paint, watercolour, texta colour, collage, or anything that they have at hand in the home.)

The Art Department would like to extend an invitation to all families of students at Glen Eira College, to join in and create your own artwork based on this theme.

If you are feeling creative, or you simply require something to keep you busy, we guarantee that making some art will lift your spirits.

We would love to see lots of families joining in and engaging with this project.
