I Love This School

We have always got plenty of things happening at Guyra Central School and the past few weeks are not an exception. Great children doing great things.

I would like to confirm that Ms. Kirsty Malby-Miller and Mr. David Moffitt, were, in the past couple of weeks,  successful through NSW Department of Education merit process in securing permanency within the Science Faculty at Guyra Central School. We welcome both of these outstanding teachers to our team. You have already been doing a wonderful job at the school during 2019 and we are delighted that you will now be members of our teaching team into the future.

Year 8 have all safely returned from their  trip away to Dubbo and although fairly exhausted the word is that it was amazing. Thank you to Mrs Kirsty Malby-Miller, Mrs Gwyn Pearson and Mr David Moffitt  their flexibility and commitment to ensuring that our student's learning experiences were at a maximum. Year 8 now will need to focus on their decision-making around subject selection for Year 9. Our subject selection evening will be happening on Monday 23rd September, 2019 at 6.00 p.m.

Year 12, last week of school coming up, how quickly the year has flown. I will receive the completed Year 12 reports  in the next few days, to read and to sign off. Reports will be provided to our Year 12 cohort at their Valedictory Assembly on Friday 27th September 2019. 

I had the privilege to be invited to participate with K-6 in their Great Amazing Race activities. What a great event. A great display of sports and citizenship with our children. I was working with the basketball leg of the race and witnessed some great acts of kindness and support from our older students as they assisted the younger ones. Patience and nurturing, always good to see! True teamwork on display and everyone had a load of fun. 

Congratulations to our Parents and Citizens team for the success of their Krispy Kreme fundraiser. What a success. Great organisation and support from the Guyra Community. Our kids are the winners with a large amount of money being raised to provide additional resources for our school.
