State Schools Volleyball Cup

Last Friday, selected Year 4 students - 2 boys' teams and 2 girls' teams - spent the day at the State Volleyball Centre, competing against many other schools in Volleyball.  Students who were interested in training a couple of times a week over the past 2 weeks at lunchtime came along and gave it a go with the help of Ashley Bau and Samantha Barkley. Thank you to Amanda Dane and Shan Pearse for helping out on the day.  After a Round Robin competition, both boys' teams ended up in the Finals, against each other and won Gold and Silver Medals.  The two girls teams were also successful and came home with a Gold and a Bronze Medal.  What a fantastic effort kids! Thanks you to Mrs Bau for her expertise in Volleyball.  We hope that she can take a break from her motherly duties next year and come and join us again in this competition.

Prep / Junior House Sports

Next Tuesday the Prep / Junior House Sports are being held on the ovals, commencing at 9.15am.  Prep students will be having their games on the Soccer oval, Year 1s will be on the first half of the main oval and Year 2s will be on the 2nd half of the oval.  Each Year Level will have 10 activities to work through in two hours. Could parents please ensure that they have paid and given consent for their child, as it would be disappointing for them to miss out on the fun activities.  Could parents also please make sure that children have their hats for the day and a full drink bottle?  We  look forward to everyone having a great time.  If there are parents who would like to assist with groups, please email myself or Laura Yorke.

Library News

All library books are due back by Monday 2nd December, as I have to commence stocktake.  As you can imagine, this is a huge job as all books are removed from the shelves and put through the computer individually.  Please help by making sure your child’s books are returned on time.

If your child has an overdue book at the end of the year it does not magically disappear from the system – it is carried over to next year and your child will not be able to borrow until this is rectified.  If you have previously paid for a lost book and it turns up in good condition during stocktake (sometimes it has been in the classroom and is only found when tubs are cleaned out or teachers return their books.  Other times it is found in the library in the wrong spot), your money will be credited to your school account and you will be notified.  Unless it is a very popular title I do not purchase a replacement until after stocktake for this reason.
