Sporting Achievements

There were a large group of students who progressed to the Division Cross Country Carnival at Casey Fields this term. Our students competed extremely well on the day. In Particular, Jess Proudlock who achieved 2nd place in the  'Girls 14yrs' category and Ali Ahmadi who achieved 3rd place in the 'Boys 14yrs category.

10 students progressed through to the Southern Metropolitan Cross Country Day at Cruden Farm in Langwarrin.  Although the students did not advance through to the state Championships, they all competed well and gave their best.

Well done to Kyrra Gordon, Rhoda Achiek, Ashley Payne, Jessica Proudlock, Gemma Inns, Eleanor Denness, Ali Ahmadi, Isaac Van Rhyn, Bayliss Luck and Katherine Lopez.

This term,  there has also been several sporting teams go out to various competitions including Badminton and Soccer across all year levels. The Year 8 girls badminton team came 2nd on their day, narrowly losing the final.

Well done to our Year 8 Netball team who took part in their competition last week.  Great job on winning 3 matches, tremendous effort girls!

Congratulations to all students for your achievements and for participating this Semester! Your enthusiasm and drive is inspiring and we're excited about Semester 2 and remainder of 2019!.

Southern Metro Youth Forum

"The Youth Forum was organised by senior officers of Victoria Police in Dandenong and supported at the senior level by a number of government departments namely Justice, DHHS, DET and the City of Greater Dandenong, with high representation by these bodies at the Forum.

The Forum had a genuine desire to seek to understand the problem of the escalating incidence of violence by young people against young people in and around Dandenong by capturing the voice of young people.

Young people are often the offenders as well as victims of this violence. The outcome identified the safety needs of young people as well as interventions which may prevent the violence."

It was great for some of our Year 10 VCAL Students to have the opportunity to attend this event last week with Ms. Shaw.

Academic Challenge

On Wednesday 29th May, we welcomed Students from Lynbrook, Courtenay Gardens and Cranbourne Park Primary schools to take part in the 2019 Academic Challenge.  It was a fantastic morning with bags of enthusiasm and energy and we would like to thank our teachers, student helpers and of course all the visiting primary school students and staff for their participation. Congratulations to the 2019 winners, Lynbrook Primary School.

Hindi

During Hindi classes, students were asked to create projects that recognise the famous structures and cultures that India has to offer.  Visiting a Year 8 class last week, I saw work students had written, made or built!  Jet spent hours building his Taj Mahal out of lego!  Great work everyone!

Thank you

We would like to thank RACV for donating batteries to our Auto workshop.  Students undertaking Automotive studies onsite in our fantastic facilities really benefit from these generous donations and we are always grateful for the community support.
