An opportunity exists for students at school to take part in a Cultural Exchange trip to the United States of America for twenty days in the January 2021 school holidays.

 

Destinations include: Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott’s Berry Farm, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco.  A feature of the tour is that the students spend ten days living with an American host family and visit an American school.

 

The cost is currently $6,895.00*. (*tour inclusions). The trip departs from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane international airports, and includes the following: airfares and airline fuel surcharge, transfers, accommodation, travel insurance, breakfasts during hotel stays and admissions to attractions.

 

An information session will be held at Numurkah Secondary College at 6pm on Tuesday 27th August in the school hall.  All Cobram Secondary parents and students are welcome to attend to find out more about this life changing program.

Water Hero Writing Competition

With rainfall being low in the Goulburn Valley this year, we need a water hero to come and save the day!

Students are invited to write a POEM, STORY or COMIC BOOK about a water hero helping to save water in the Goulburn Valley.

Name, Year Level & School must be included with entry

Entries may be submitted electronically or as a hard copy

Electronic entries must be PDF or Microsoft Word documents

Entries must be received by 5 pm, Friday 20th September

The prizes for each of the five-year level categories include:

1st Place - $100 book voucher

2nd Place - $50 book voucher

Entries are submitted with the understanding that they may be copied or reproduced by Goulburn Valley Water for articles, publications, social media, website etc.

 

Tap Snap Photography Competition

 Photographs should be related to tap water and may include water coming out of the tap, drinking water, watering the garden.... any activity to do with tap water that you can think of!

The more creative the better!

Limit 5 photos per person

Name, Year Level & School must be included with entry

Judging

 Judging will take place during the September school holidays.

Winners are selected using the following criteria:

The submission follows the theme

The submission is creative

The submission is of high quality

Entries for both competitions are judged in the following year level categories:

Prep/1/2

Gr 3/4

Gr 5/6

Yr 7 - Yr 9

Yr 10 - Yr 12

Winners will be announced during Water Week, 21-27 October 2018.
