ACC Inclusive Athletics Carnival

On Friday 10 September, St Norbert College made history with its first College representative team competing in the ACC Inclusive Athletics Carnival. The Inclusive Sports Program is designed to provide students with a disability, the opportunity to represent their school in ACC sport. It was a truly wonderful day that started with all 14 participating schools taking to the track with a march past. The day was filled with many opportunities for students to participate in championship track and field events as well as various ‘Have a Go’ events. We are so proud of the effort and performance of the team, with all the students giving every event a go and performing to the best of their abilities, with all students having their efforts recognised for their individual placings.

Special mention to Thomas Rogers who received a championship medal for the Open Age Boys 70m Manual Wheel Chair Race. St Norbert College had a representative team of five this year, however we hope that we can continue to grow and support the participation and involvement of all students in the sporting arena.

Congratulations to all the competing athletes and we look forward to the future of our Inclusive Sports Program.

ACC Athletics Carnival

On Friday 17 September, St Norbert College competed in the ACC Athletics Carnival at the WA Athletics Stadium. After weekly training sessions the team embarked early on a bright sunny morning to the Athletics Venue. With much anticipation surrounding how the new group of Year 7s would measure up and the always-reliable Open group hoping to leave a legacy, it was an exciting day ahead.

The competition got off to a great start with our team in a really positive mindset. Early results gave us confidence, with our hurdlers finishing in pole positions. Connor Chehab in the first field event for the day threw 51.02m for SNC’s first place finish for the day. SNC’s first place on the track came from Zack Hately in the U13 hurdles event and just like that the day was looking very bright.

The top 3 schools in Irene McCormick, Seton Catholic College and St Norbert College were all in close contention throughout the day with only 50 points separating them. It came down to the relays to finish off the day. Once again the Open Boys held their title as Relay champs with excellent display of skill and teamwork.

St Norbert College was involved in a number of achievements on the day including;
