Class Celebrations

Celebrating the growth in our wonderful children on each learning level...

Grade Prep

We are so proud of our Prep students this year. It has been challenging and very different from the year we all imagined. Despite this, they have completed Term 4 with smiles and a positive attitude. This week, the students began thinking about Grade 1 and wrote letters to their future teacher. See below for some of our thoughtful work.

The Prep Team would like to thank the students and parents for their continued efforts and support this year. We are heading into 2022 with some fond memories.- see below for some 2021 highlights.

Grade 1

We are so proud of our fantastic Grade 1 students for making it through a challenging year with smiles and can-do attitudes. Our Grade 1 students have demonstrated resilience and enthusiasm with their learning.

We have created some beautiful memories together this year including baking focaccias, meeting an Olympian, building a robot, acting out fairy tales and creating trash puppets. We would like to thank our fantastic Grade 1 families, for the ongoing support they have shown us throughout the year. We are very proud of what the Grade 1 students have achieved and will miss them greatly next year. We wish them all the best in their new 2022 classes!

Grade 2

We are so proud of our Grade 2 students who have continued to smile and support each other despite a challenging year with many lockdowns. We have had many experiences including a magic show, building our own robots, learning from authors and illustrators and meeting some Australian wildlife. We have enjoyed learning together and wish them all the best for 2022!

All of this wouldn't be possible without the support of the wonderful Grade 2 parents and carers. We are grateful for your ongoing support and we couldn't do it without you. We wish you and your families a wonderful school holiday.

Below are some pictures from our recent illustrator visit by Bernard Caleo, who taught us how to make a fun comic involving Santa and a present.

Grade 3/4

What a year it has been for Grade 3/4! Multiple lockdowns, NAPLAN and, to round it all out, camp! We'd like to take this opportunity to thank the families of the Grade 3/4 students. As a teaching team, we have never felt more supported, appreciated and valued. Parent-teacher partnerships are one of the keys to a healthy, happy education, and the teachers couldn't have gotten through this year without the wonderful 3/4 families.

Not only that, but the Grade 3/4 students have made our year all the sweeter. We are so privileged and proud to work with such kind, caring, resilient and compassionate children. We will miss them all very much but know that they won't be very far next year. Congratulations, Grade 3/4 kids!

Grade 5 & 6

We are so proud of Grade 5 and 6 and their accomplishments this year. They are resilient, hardworking and so caring. Their passion for real-life issues and making a difference to the world highlights the wonderful upbringing they have been given by our amazing families. Thank you so much for raising such compassionate, enthusiastic children. We are so grateful for your support over this year.

Leadership Speeches:

On Thursday, it was time for our shortlisted student leadership applicants to present their speeches to the Grade 3-5 students. Look how excited they looked just minutes before their took to their audience:

Bizarre Bazaar:

During inquiry lessons this term, the students have been busy creating products to sell the other students in SMPS. They even created posters to entice students to come and buy from their stalls. They collected a massive $174 on Bizarre Bazaar day. They now are left with the decision as to what to buy as treat for themselves.

Procedural Writing and Baking:

This week in writing lessons, the students have been revising how to write a procedural text. To put their procedural writing skills to the test, we baked cookies following the instructions. We may just have some future bakers on our hands! Take a look at how they it went:

Cinema Trip:

On Friday December 3rd, the Grade 5/6 students were lucky enough to have an end of year cinema trip treat. We went to the cinema to watch the movie Encanto. They received a drink and popcorn or a choctop. Look at those happy faces!
