Year 8 Wellbeing Day

On Friday the 10th of September, the Year 8 students had their Wellbeing Day! The day started off with a year level assembly, where we had a Q and A session with AFLW player Isabelle Pritchard, an ex-MGC student. She shared her story and experience with us, and it was an enlightening experience for everyone.

In Period 2, we had a yoga session with performer Guru Dudu. We got our active wear on and did a combined session of yoga and disco. The energy and enthusiasm that came from the students was great and we all loved it!

For the second half of the day, students had the opportunity to take part in a range of activities. This included a Harry Potter kahoot, a cupcake decorating challenge, a murder mystery to solve, and various other options. There was a large contribution amongst all students, and it was a great way to interact with friends. Winners of these competitions received prizes which were presented in the following Monday assembly. Congratulations to those students and all who participated!

A special thanks to the teachers who performed the MC Hammer Tik Tok dance! Watching teachers try a tik tok dance was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think we can all agree that the year eight teachers would make excellent social media influencers!

Although Year 8 Wellbeing Day was held virtually, it was heaps of fun. It combined friendly competition, physical activity, and time to unwind with our friends perfectly. Thank you to the Year Level Leaders for planning this day and the student council members for contributing, both towards planning and executing the activities.
