Chalk Art Friendship Trail - A Banyule Children's Week Activity
Every year across Australia, in the last week of October Children’s Week is celebrated. During this time, events and activities are held for children and with children to showcase their talents and achievements and to raise awareness about children’s rights and their right to enjoy childhood.
This year, the theme of Children’s Week is Children have the right to choose their own friends and safely connect with others. To celebrate, Council is encouraging children and children at heart to help create a Chalk Art Friendship Trail. Send a message of friendship or about friendship to others by drawing a picture or writing a message on a pavement with chalk in your street or on your driveway.
If families take a photo of the artwork, share it with friends on Facebook/Instagram/Twitter and tag @Banyule Council they will have a chance to win one of three Shop Local voucher valued at $25 each. Photos can also be sent to libby.mein@banyule.vic.gov.au. Entries are now open and will close on 29th October 5pm.
