Welcome back to term 4. We are looking forward to seeing your children back at school and in the SAC Program when return to onsite learning resumes.
Highlights of the last week of term 3
Our new Lego was a particular favourite with the children. They were following the instructions to make their LEGO creations. Following instructions can be quite a skill that requires putting the correct pieces together in order and the precise location. They are extremely proud of their achievements are demonstrating they are becoming confident and involved learners.
The children were out and about for an adventure walk in our beautiful school grounds. It provided them with time to ‘soak up’ our outdoor school environment and take a closer look at parts of our grounds they may walk past without noticing. Our school gardens provide many examples of how nature changes during the year. The children took photos of trees, flowers, leaves, seed pods and any plants that caught their eye. There was plenty of discussion about plants and trees, how they grow, how they change during the seasons and importantly how we care for our environment. We are very fortunate to have such an amazing outdoor environment to work and learn in every day.
Science: Cooking coconut balls and no-bake chocolate brownies. Watching the creation of elephant’s toothpaste – an experiment in mixing liquids and solids and seeing the eruption that happens! Even though, as with many scientific intentions, it perhaps didn’t work as well as it should – however this did lead to discussions about how to improve the experiment next time!
School and community links: Last day of term was Footy Day across the school – remote learning students, onsite learning students and our SAC children took part. We finished off the term with an afternoon movie and hot dogs. YUM!
Please contact us if you have any queries at all about our School Age Care Program. Enrolments for next year’s foundation students will open later this term. A request will also be sent out for existing families to update their child’s enrolment details and bookings for next year.
