Principal's Report

It is so good to see our students coming back into our school.

Congratulations to every parent and helper for working so hard with your child to help them with online learning.

We are all excited to welcome all our students back on Wednesday morning from 8.45am. Hats are a necessity for Term 4 please.

Just a reminder Monday is a pupil free day as staff will be onsite updating their CPR qualification and planning for the reminder of the Term.

How good is this!! Cystic Fibrosis Run

Run for the hills

Did you notice an unusual number of walkers, joggers and riders, all dressed in red in Warrandyte on Sunday 24 October? It was hard to miss the 50 individuals and family groups from 12 local families who embarked on a mission to create a river of red!

Team Gallop embarked on their virtual Great Strides (a fun run and walk held every October) to raise awareness and funds for people living with cystic fibrosis (CF).

This year the event had to be held virtually and so Team Gallop took to the street and trails of Warrandyte to complete their event.

Congratulations to the students of ACPS who did an amazing job of running, walking and riding on the day and together raised over $1,200.

Foundation Enrolments

Our school council "media and communications" team, expertly led by Volkan Ozturk, have been doing an amazing job promoting our school. You may have noticed the billboards around Warrandyte, articles in the Warrandyte Diary and our online campaigns. On Wednesday night we ran a well attended online information session for next year's prep parents, and we have a number of virtual (and hopefully soon in-person) transition events planned for the coming weeks.

If you know of any local families who are considering our school who have not yet enrolled, or perhaps have a sibling that is not enrolled yet, we encourage you to get in touch with Jo at the office asap to secure a place.

2022 Class Formations

Our teachers and school leaders are beginning the annual task of forming classes for next year. Assigning children to classes is a highly complex process. As per our class formation policy, the Principal will manage this process, and invites parents to partner with us in sharing information to aide this. Each year we strive to create balanced classes which take account of friendships, working relationships of students, a mix of academic levels and gender balances. Any parent requests need to be submitted in writing by November 5.  Please forward these to both Sue Dyos (susan.dyos@education.vic.gov.au) and Meredith Thornton (meredith.thornton@education.vic.gov.au). All requests will be considered on educational grounds.

Remote Learning Feedback

Thank-you to all of the families who have filled in our Remote Learning Survey which was sent out via Konnective on Monday 25th. The survey will be open until Monday 1st November for those who would still like to contribute.

We really appreciate your feedback and once again thank-you for all your help and assistance during the remote learning period. We are very excited to have everyone back onsite next week.

Thank you

Many thanks to our staff and parent in the community for supporting me in this role.

Take care and enjoy your long weekend
