Boarding School News

Mrs. Kathryn Searle - Head of Boarding

We are back to a full house in boarding and the day-to-day busyness of study sports training and music practice.

There have been a few girls present with cold symptoms already this week. Nurse Fiona, who visits the Boarding House to check on our boarders every morning before school, has administered a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) for all students with symptoms, and all have returned negative results to date. We will communicate with you if your daughter has a test and advise you of the result.

Part-Time Jobs

Some of our students in Year 10+ already have part-time jobs.  In boarding, we support this as we try to enable our students to appreciate their life as day students.

If your child is interested in pursuing part-time or casual work, please ensure you have discussed this and consent as the parent before they apply and accept a position.  We will then be able to discuss the logistics of the job with your child, such as hours of work vs study and school commitments and transportation requirements.

We do our best to transport our boarders to many out of school events; however, at times, due to demand, it is not always possible to provide transportation to non-school activities such as part-time work commitments.  Therefore, a plan needs to be put in place of how your child will get to and from their job if the Boarding House transport is not available.

Facebook

Our Boarding House has its own Facebook group. This group is limited to boarding parents and carers only, making it a great place to showcase photos of our girls at various activities. If you would like to follow our Facebook group, go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/340245156378504.
