Mrs. Vivienne Corness - Assistant Head of Primary

Years 2 to 6 Swimming Carnival

We are looking forward to an enjoyable morning poolside on Tuesday 15 February, as our Years 2 to 6 students compete in the Interhouse Swimming Carnival. Please refer to the Sports section for information.

Primary New Student Morning Tea

On Friday 18 February, we will be hosting a morning tea for all new students in Years 1 to 6. Children will meet Mrs. Fellowes and Mrs. Corness on Leopard Terrace to share their experiences of their first two weeks in their new school. Morning tea will be provided for the children. We look forward to hearing how they have settled in and discuss how they can become involved in their new school community.

Homework Club Years 3 to 6

Children in Years 3 to 6 can attend Homework Club in the Upper LRC from 3:15 pm - 5:00 pm from Monday to Thursday. Please note, during these sessions students are expected to complete homework tasks or read quietly. Children will not be permitted to play games on devices. All students must be signed out of the Upper LRC by 5:00 pm as supervision concludes at this time. 

 

Attendance must be via registration. To register your child/ren for Homework Club, please email Mrs. Alice David at studentservices@clayfield.qld.edu.au

Individual School Photos

Primary student individual photographs will take place on Wednesday 23 February. All students are required to wear full school summer uniform on this day. Boys’ hair is expected to be neat, and girls’ hair must be tied back with a green ribbon or scrunchie if touching their collar. 

Meet The Teacher

Thank you to all parents/caregivers who were able to connect for our Meet the Teacher afternoon last Monday. It was a wonderful opportunity for our core and specialist teachers to share their overview of the year ahead. If you missed the sessions with the specialist teachers their PowerPoint presentation will be sent to you via email.

Camp Information Sessions

Our Year 4 to 5 Camp and Year 6 Camp information sessions will take place via Zoom. Please see the arrangements below:

 

Year 4 to 5 Camp

Parents and students are welcome to join Mrs. Corness, Mrs. Bailey and Mrs. McFarlane on Thursday 17 February at 4:30 pm via Zoom to discuss arrangements and activities for camp. Mrs. Corness will send a Zoom link to all families on Wednesday.

 

Year 4 to 5 camp will take place from Wednesday 9 March to Friday 11 March at QCCC Mapleton.

 

Year 6 Camp

Parents and students are welcome to join Mrs. Corness, Ms. Francis and Mrs. Hodgson on Wednesday 23 February at 4:30 pm via Zoom to discuss arrangements and activities for camp. Mrs. Corness will send a Zoom link to all families closer to the date.

 

Year 6 Camp will take place from Wednesday 16 March to Friday 18 March at Kenilworth Homestead.
